
Production of ‘Annie’ 2018
With a cast of 64, an offstage chorus of 30 and a backstage crew of 11 Ballyclare Secondary School transformed into Broadway for its production of Annie which took place on Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th December 2018.

On Thursday 6th December the Year 8 Pupils enjoyed their Christmas dinner which was hosted in the Assembly Hall.
On 29th November 2018, Year 8 History classes were given the opportunity to participate in a Norman Outreach Programme. The event took place in school, with Living History characters dressed in full Norman costume, equipped with authentic weapons and artefacts bringing the past to life.
The PTA are running a raffle for 300 liters of Oil in association with Taylor Fuels. Tickets cost £10 and are available from the school office or before and after the performances of ‘Annie’ on Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th December.
On Tuesday, 20th November, 3 of our year 13 pupils, Zara Davis, Jade Fyffe-McFadden and Olivia Neill competed in the Soroptimist Public Speaking Competition for the Newtownabbey area.
On Thursday 25th October 2018 Ballyclare Secondary School held its annual awards evening for the Presentation of Certificates and Trophies. Mrs Bell welcomed parents, carers, staff, Governors, pupils and guests to the evening.
Congratulations to three of our past pupils, Faye Hutchinson, Chloe Hanna and Lesley- Anna Tosh, on graduating from the University of Ulster with a First Class Honours Degree in Music.
On Friday 1st June Kofi was presented with his international cap by the NISFA (Northern Ireland Schools Football Association) at La Mon Hotel and Country Club.
Kofi Balmer played for the Northern Ireland Schoolboys on 29th March 2018 against the Republic of Ireland in the Centenary Shield competition gaining his first ‘Schoolboy Cap’. Kofi had gained this achievement whilst still attending Ballyclare Secondary School.
On Wednesday 21st March our U16 Rugby squad won the 2018 Danske Bank Ulster High Schools’ Trophy, thanks to a 37-19 win over Ballynahinch High School at Kingspan Stadium.
2017/2018 was a great year for Ballyclare Secondary School’s U16 Hockey Squad. Ballyclare Secondary is extremely lucky; it has a lot of very gifted and talented players in Years 9-12 willing to step to the mark. These players possess a high need to achieve, an outstanding work ethic and attitude.
For the second year in a row Ballyclare Secondary School’s Art & Design department has had the top CCEA GCSE student!
