Based in Salou, Spain the tournament consisted of professional academies from across Europe and as far east as Japan.
Jack kicked off the tournament in style scoring both goals in a 2-2 draw with European heavy weights Dynamo Kiev, this resulted in Jack being awarded man of the match for his sterling display. He featured well in all of the games and made a fantastic contribution to the success that the team experienced. Jack went on to secure another goal versus Vasterlas of Sweden securing the Top Goalscorer award for the Northern Ireland side. The team progressed well only to be outdone by the Ukrainians in the final.
NIBFA coach Marc Gamble stated, “Jack’s performances this year for Greenisland FC allowed Jack the chance to showcase his talent on the European stage. On and off the pitch he was a credit to himself, his family, club and Ballyclare Secondary. Hopefully he can use these positive experiences to further enhance his personal development”.
