An opportunity has arisen, with the support of Blythswood, for our parents to recycle uniforms. Blythswood will offer these back to any family free of charge (two uniforms per family).
Blythswood would be delighted to receive the uniforms into the shop in Ballyclare:
93 Templepatrick Rd, Ballyclare BT39 9RQ (beside the Milestone petrol station).
This will also be the distribution point. Uniforms will be available from Saturday 3rd of August to Saturday 10th August (inclusive). Shop opening hours 9:30am-5pm.
Words from Mr A Nicholl (Vice Principal – Pastoral Care), “Ballyclare Secondary’s long-standing relationship with Blythswood Ireland is one to be cherished. We value their charitable messages centered on kindness.
This year our pupils showed outstanding generosity by donating 86 shoe boxes as part of the shoebox appeal. The 86 shoeboxes donated were sent to young children, teenagers and elderly less fortunate that ourselves, including: Albania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Kosovo, Moldova, Pakistan, Romania, Serbia and Ukraine.
Mrs Michelle Gault very kindly came into school on two occasions, once to talk to our pupils about who would receive the boxes and what to put in them and then again to thank the pupils and staff for all their hard work. Mrs Gault also presented certificates to the classes who donated the most shoeboxes.
Recent meetings held with Stuart Martin have been very productive and we are delighted to support Blythswood on this recent initiative – “Recycle Your Uniform”. Recycling your child’s uniform, not only has a cost benefit but an environmental one. Please take a moment to consider recycling your uniform(s) as we can never underestimate the power of small acts of kindness.”
