Ballyclare U14 Rugby Squad took part in the High School Cup Tournament on Thursday 26th February 2015.
After qualifying from the East Antrim Area BSS were placed in pool A where their opponents were Lurgan Junior High, Omagh CBS and Carndonagh. The Ballyclare boys got off to a great start with a 10-0 victory over Carndonagh, in wintery conditions at Ballymena Rugby Club. Tries from Adam Shields and Ross Warren confirmed a positive start to the group stage.
The second match was against Omagh CBS and again Ballyclare proved too strong for their opponents with a six try victory. Scorers included Jim McKernon, Jack Milton, Kofi Balmer, and Rhys Cobain.
The final group game provided the toughest test this season and the mid-Ulster side proved to be too strong for the Ballyclare pack, with them being defeated by 22-0.
Despite this knockback Ballyclare had done enough to progress to the Semi-final of the competition before they were knocked out. A great result for such a young U14 Squad.
