Year 8 Egg-travaganza 2015

On Monday 22nd June the Year 8 classes took part in the annual Eggstravaganza organised by the STEM Working Party.

The challenge involves teams of pupils building a pod to protect an egg from breaking when dropped from a height (no boiled eggs in sight!). The teams must combine their engineering and mathematical skills to meet the challenge as they are given a budget to buy materials to build the best pod they can. BSS girls certainly have bright futures as engineers with all of the girl teams winning in each of the three sessions throughout the day. The winning group for the day were Chloe, Michelle and Katelyn from 80 aptly named the “Egg-cellent Crew” (and so they were)!
