On Tuesday 12th May, we opened our doors to school leaders from across Northern Ireland to showcase the benefits of a phone-free learning environment. At BSS, we introduced phone-free learning using Yondr pouches in August 2025, becoming one of the first schools in County Antrim to do so. Since then, pupils store their phones securely during the school day, reducing distractions and boosting focus, behaviour, and social interaction. The initiative has been widely supported by staff, pupils, and parents, with leaders from across Northern Ireland visiting the school to see the approach in action.
