Show Jumping Success for Ruby and Emily

Ruby Robinson and Emily Dobbin (Year 9) headed down to Castle Irvine Estate, Irvinestown on Tuesday morning for an 8.30am start. The sun was shining on the beautiful surroundings along with perfect conditions to jump. Ruby had a tricky first phase in the Novice show jumping class but flew round the second. Emily had a fantastic round with just an unlucky pole in the intermediate class. Both girls had a fabulous time sporting BSS colours and enjoyed a hack round the beautiful grounds of Castle Irvine Estate before heading back up the road. Well Done Girls, definitely worth the 5.30am road trip!

Success Outside the Classroom

This week we celebrate with Samuel Logan and Abi Caldwell for two very different skills!

Abi has been awarded the prestigious Lagan Festival Cup for Speaking of Verse and Prose, ‘a recognition of the candidates exceptional talent and dedication in this discipline’. This accomplishment not only highlights Abi's hard work but also serves as a testament to the support and encouragement she has received from tutors and staff.

Samuel Logan made the journey across to Scotland for the first round of the Moto Cross Scottish Championship competing in both Adult and Youth sections. Samuel had a tough start in the Youth section finishing 14th overall after coming off his bike, subsequently not finishing the last race and costing him points. A different story followed in the Adult section as he raced to success finishing 3rd overall for the day.

Well Done!

U16 Semi-Finalists

Well done to our U16 hockey squad who played a strong Dromore High side today in the Semi finals of the Ulster Hockey U16 High School’s Cup at Mossley Hockey Club.

Dromore started strong and scored in the first 2 minutes. Following with another goal shortly after. After a quick team talk with Ms Oliver and Mrs Hall at quarter time the girls went out and rose to the challenge, playing some lovely hockey.

Unfortunately, despite excellent pressure, especially from Eva Grant and Faith Thompson, Ballyclare weren’t able to score. The final score remained 2-0 to Dromore.

Player of the match was Captain and Goalie Mia Singleton. Special mention must also go to Year 8, 9 and 10 superstars Erin Hoey (8), Ruby McAuley (8), Lexi Fellows (9), Ruby Lewis (9) and Ivy McFall (10).

We wish finalists Dromore High and Kilkeel High luck in the final next Wednesday.
