Year 8 Hockey Success

The Year 8 hockey team kicked off their NEBSSA league campaign with a fantastic performance against local rivals, Glengormley Integrated College. The girls secured an impressive 5–0 victory!

A special mention goes to Sofia A, who worked tirelessly in midfield and was rewarded with two well-deserved goals. Jessica S, Layla T, and Pixie M also found the back of the net to complete a dominant team display.

Well done to all girls who played, a great team in the making!

Remembrance Assembly

On Tuesday, our whole school came together for a Remembrance Assembly. The service was led by Mrs Shingleton alongside our Head Boy, Louis, and Head Girl, Sara. A special moment was shared by Year 8 pupil Erin Horner, who proudly displayed her dad’s service medals, honouring his 24 years with the Royal Engineers.

On Sunday 9th November 2025, Mrs Shingleton joined Louis and Sara at the town’s annual Remembrance Day service. Together, they laid a wreath to honour the sacrifices of generations past and those who continue to serve today.

We will remember them.

100% Attendance

Last week, we held special assemblies to recognise and celebrate the incredible achievement of our students who maintained 100% attendance throughout the last school year and beyond. Their commitment and dedication to learning are inspiring to friends and classmates—well done to each and every one of you!

On the same day, we also took the opportunity to wish our NEBSSA competitors well as they prepared to represent the school. You might notice some of them in the photos proudly wearing their PE kit—ready to succeed both in the classroom and on the field!

Thank you to everyone who continues to show such commitment to school life. Keep up the fantastic work.

Book Week

The NI library service has been working with organisations like the BBC to highlight this week as Book Week (https://www.bbc.co.uk/events/ejn6gw). Our own library has had lots of interest in our new titles and our contribution has been to highlight the work of the ever popular author Anthony Horowitz. Think Alex Rider and you’re there with his best bits! These students from our junior school have enjoyed their experience with our display materials and we’d love to see more students tell us about their favourite authors too.
