Past Pupil Kofi Balmer who plays for Motherwell FC following spells with Crystal Palace, Larne and AFC Wimbledon has been added to the Northern Ireland squad for the upcoming Nations League matches with Belarus and Bulgaria. At U21 level, Kofi captained the side, and it is great to see him back in the international squad. We continue to follow Kofi’s success with interest.

It’s hard to believe that we are only a few weeks away from the BSS Autumn Fair which takes place on Saturday 19th October 2024 from10am-2pm. We would love to see BSS pupils and families to enjoy this autumnal event together.
We have a number of stall holders, Autumnal crafts and games, tea and coffee and raffle prizes to be won.
An entry price of £5 per family, £2 per adult and £1 per child applies.
We had the joy to have 4 pupils represent BSS at the Inter Schools Show Jumping on Saturday. Not only did they compete very well but looked smart with their BSS saddle pads. Well Done!
To celebrate European Day of Languages our pupils got the chance to enjoy a freshly made Crêpe pancake to experience a little piece of French culture. Merci Beaucoup Modern Languages department!

Miss Bishop's Prince's Trust class are completing the "Money Management" unit. On Tuesday 24th September, they focused on Budgeting; learning the importance of budgeting and the difference between credits and debits.
Pupils were able to put their knowledge into action, through completing the Barclay's Life Skills Budgeting Game. With a small budget of £965, each team worked together to see how many months they could make this money last for.
All teams managed to make their £965 stretch to at least three months before running out, with the use of money saving techniques and "lifeline" cards.
One team even managed to gain money along the way, meaning they ended the game with more money than what they started with! Congratulations to our winning team, assisted by Mrs Morrison and Miss Thompson.
