Ballyclare Festival Success

Today we celebrated the success of our pupils who took part in the Ballyclare Music Festival last week. Their performances were outstanding and they represented the school with great pride.

We are tremendously proud of every pupil who participated. Thank you for the time, dedication, and commitment you show to the Music Department—it truly makes occasions like this possible.

Congratulations also to those who were placed in their classes; this is a wonderful achievement and a testament to your hard work.

1st place – Kristianne Lyttle in the Year 9 -10 Brass solo

1st place – Brass Ensemble

2nd place – Eve O’Leary Jordon Year 9-10 vocal solo

3rd place – Ana MacFarlane Year 9-10 vocal solo

2nd Place – Shannon Dougherty and Eve O’Leary Jordan Year 14 and under vocal duet

2nd place - Abigail Pye in the 13-14 Classical vocal solo and Musical Theatre

Abigail was also awarded the best overall vocal performance of the festival and received a bursary of £50

2nd place – Logan Weatherstone in the Year 8 Musical Theatre Solo

1st place – Faith Hamilton Year 11-12 piano solo

2nd place –Zoe Johnston Year 11-12 piano solo

3rd place – Holly McCroary Year 11-12 piano solo

1st place – Elspeth Purdy Year 13-14 piano solo

1st place – Emily Dobbin in the Year 9 -10 string solo

2nd place – Ruby Gardiner in the Year 9 -10 string solo

1st place – Sviat Donstov in the Year 11-12 string solo

2nd place –Sarah Dalzell in the Year 11-12 string solo

3rd place – Rachael Lovett in the Year 11-12 string solo

1st Place – Annabelle Brown in the Year 13-14 string solo

1st place – Orchestra in the Post-Primary Orchestra Class

2nd place – Hannah Lapsley Year 11-12 woodwind solo

Celebrating Achievement at Ballyclare Secondary School

A huge well done to all our students who were recognised this week for their hard work, commitment, and positive contributions to school life.

Isabella Going to Los Angeles on Cinemagic Trip

Congratulations to Isabella Douglas (Year 14) who has been selected to take part in the prestigious Cinemagic trip to Los Angeles, taking place 21st–28th June 2026!

Isabella applied for this highly competitive programme—open to students from across the island of Ireland—and was one of the few chosen to experience a week of filmmaking, workshops, and behind the scenes opportunities in LA.

We are incredibly proud of Isabella’s achievement and can’t wait to see all she learns and creates on this unforgettable adventure!

Imogen is selected for the Bobby Barr Dance Scholarship

Imogen M (Year 9) had the honour of being selected for the Bobby Barr Dance Scholarship in Glasgow.

This was a fantastic opportunity, and we are delighted to share a picture of her Certificate of Merit from the event.

Take 5 Theme - Connect

Building friendships, teamwork, and smiles! 8B enjoyed a carousel of games today as they explored the Take 5 theme for March: Connect. Strong connections make strong learners!
