Our wonderful AS and A2 Level Art pupils were assessed and graded this week and we think you’ll agree that the pieces are exceptional. What a wealth of talent!
Congratulations to all our athletes who competed at the Ulster Schools Athletics Championships on Saturday 20th May. A special congratulations to Year 8, Aleksander Janiszewski who finished 1st overall in the shot put and is an Ulster Champion with a throw of 9.87m. Year 8 Oliver Loughlin finished 5th overall in the shot put and the Year 8 boys relay team made up of Oliver, Aleks, Oliver and Reuben qualified for the final and finished 7th overall. Fantastic results.
Place 2 Be: Mental Health Awareness Week 15 – 19 May
Exams can be a challenging time for young people, and many young people can feel worried and stressed in the lead up to exams. ‘Place 2 Be’ have drawn up guides for young people and for parents on how to navigate this time.
Alice Jones (9C) and Ellie Mae Kerr (8S), competed at Balmoral Show on Friday 12th May, representing the East Antrim Pony Club to battle for the Wilkinson Sword- a highly sought after accolade in pony club mounted games. The girls and their team won the Wilkinson Sword, something their pony club hasn’t won since 1991 – so it was a huge achievement.
Well done girls. We are so proud of you.
This morning, some of our class reps got their photographs taken with the winning trophies for attendance for March and April.
The overall class winners for each year group is hotly contested with end of year prizes for the winning classes up for grabs.
This morning Mrs Shingleton handed over the cheque with the final amount raised from the event that saw our senior school witness our Head Boy, Jack, braving the shave for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The total raised is: £2763.10 and we could not be more proud of Jack. What a fitting way to signify his and our Year 14s last day at Ballyclare Secondary school.
