Last Thursday, the Translink Safety Bus came to school, to educate our Year 8s about staying safe whilst using public transport. The Safety Officer highlighted many issues including boarding and getting off the bus, storing school bags during the journey, and buying their tickets for a Glider route, as well as reasons for CCTV, the effects of anti-social behaviour and staying visible during darker evenings

Mental Health Awareness Week

As it is Mental Health Awareness week, on Monday, the staff and pupils wore something yellow to raise awareness and donate money for the charity AWARE. The school was bright and colourful and quizzes, thankfulness boards and collections are ongoing until Friday. Thanks to Miss Dunwoody for all the organisation.

Futsal Success

Following the futsal tournament last Friday, at The Valley Leisure Centre, both teams did very well. Year 8, a team that had never played together before, drew 2 games and lost 2 games. There were some great goals scored by these girls.

Also, the Year 10-11 team did fantastically and comfortably won every match that they played. The Year 10 and 11 girls got through to the semi-final and beat the opposing team! The girls strongly got into the final and of course, had the strength and ability to beat the other team. This means that the Year 10 and 11 girls won their regional final and are through to play all other regional finalists at a later date. Well done to all involved!
