For the past two evenings at BSS, the joy of the Arts was clear for all to see. With fantastic performances of the Wizard of Oz, the cast and crew experienced first-hand the unique, personal experience that stage productions provide. It is impossible to measure the emotional impact, cultural enrichment, and sense of community that these performances bring which are all intangible benefits to our pupils. The pupils’ outstanding display of dedication coupled with determination will become a life-long memory for all pupils involved. It’s a wrap!
Congratulations to Rachael Lovett who has been selected for the Netball U15 Northern Academy for Northern Ireland. Rachael trialled in September and has been attending training at Antrim Forum and Foyle Arena since. She looks forward to competing against the other Academies in the new year. Well Done Rachael!
On Tuesday 17th December, from 9am - 12 noon, pupils who completed GCSE and A-Level exams in the Summer 2024 series are invited into school to collect their certificates. There will be soft drinks and nibbles available. We look forward to seeing you then!
Today in Culture club we talked about Christmas traditions in France and Northern Ireland. Pupils enjoyed candy canes and we learnt how they became a Christmas tradition. Oleh Dontsov from 9D joined Culture Club today to share Christmas Traditions from Ukraine, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you Oleh and щасливого Різдва / shchaslyvoho Rizdva!
Yesterday our Cast, Crew and Production Team of the school production of ‘The Wizard of Oz’ welcomed Ballyclare Primary School, The Thompson Primary School, Parkgate Primary NI @doaghprimaryschool and Kilbride Central Primary School KCPS to BSS to watch the first matinee performance. They were a great audience and a credit to their schools. It’s almost time for another trip down the yellow brick road and there are still some tickets available for the public performances on Wednesday and Thursday evenings. https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/ballyclaress.
