This morning Mrs Shingleton handed over the cheque with the final amount raised from the event that saw our senior school witness our Head Boy, Jack, braving the shave for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The total raised is: £2763.10 and we could not be more proud of Jack. What a fitting way to signify his and our Year 14s last day at Ballyclare Secondary school.
Well done to all athletes who competed for BSS last Friday at the NEBSSA Finals. Our athletes had a very successful afternoon competing and some pupils managed to win medals in their events.
We recently received a lovely message from proud mum of our current Year 12 pupil Molly Strutt, updating us with information about her big sister and past pupil Rebekah.
“My daughter, Rebekah Strutt, was a former pupil of Ballyclare Secondary, and recently attained a first-class honours degree in Adult Nursing in January 2023. She’s taken up post as staff nurse in the Regional Acquired Brain Injury Unit in Musgrave.
I am so proud of how well Rebekah has done and just thought it would be lovely to show some recognition and for other pupils currently studying at Ballyclare Secondary.
Cheryl.”
We are keen to hear of other past pupil success stories so please contact us on: info@ballyclaresec.ballyclare.ni.sch.uk or fill in Past Pupil Network Form https://ballyclaresecondary.co.uk/about/past-pupil-network/
Our amazing 10U threw a surprise baby shower for their form teacher, Miss Ferguson, on Friday ahead of her maternity leave beginning in a few weeks. She was absolutely delighted with the kindness of this wonderful bunch.
Mr Nicholl will be holding a series of assemblies over the next few weeks, to celebrate the successes of our pupils across all year groups. Rewards will be given in a number of categories including our new ‘kindness’ initiative
The Senior Choir where invoved in a Coronation Hymn recording with Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council. This video is the final collaborative product which brought together many local schools.
This will be shown on Sunday before the two live screenings of the Windsor Castle concert at Antrim Castle Gardens and Jordanstown Loughshore Park.
Thank you to the council for the fantastic opportunity! Make sure you watch right to the end!
The pipers and drummers had the privilege of performing at Ballyclare Primary Schools Coronation Service on Thursday 4th May. They entertained the crowds as they arrived and provided a great start to such a momentous occasion. We would like to thank Ballyclare Primary for the invitation and well done to the boys on their wonderful performance.
