Year 10 Pupils Build a Career in Construction

On Thursday 28th November, Year 10 pupils from BSS along with other year 10 pupils from only 5 other schools across NI joined together in a special event at W5 titled ‘Build Your Career, a Future in Construction’. The pupils were welcomed by none other than Cool FM and got a flying tour of the opportunities that Construction in Northern Ireland has to offer before taking part in 4 workshops to experience first hand the broad variety of opportunities in the Construction Industry. These works shops included Farrans Construction , H&J Martin Limited , GBS Roofing Ltd and the Environment & Heritage Service. With over 170 different job roles, there is something for everyone. Thanks to CITB Northern Ireland for organising. Building Success Stories starts with a firm foundation.

Leadership Lunch at @slemishcollege

Our Head Boy, Head Girl and deputies were pleased to accept the invitation to attend the Leadership Lunch organised by their counterparts at Slemish College in Ballymena.

We were warmly welcomed and had the opportunity to hear from a variety of speakers giving advice and provoking thought on the topic of becoming a young leader in today’s society. Working in groups with other pupil leaders, we had the opportunity to network and share ideas. The afternoon concluded in group presentations, with Ballyclare Secondary young leaders stepping up to the podium to present to the assembled group of almost 100 of their peers. Thanks to Slemish College for this memorable opportunity and their kind hospitality!

Chest Heart and Stroke: Vaping Talks
